Andrew Lincoln Confirms “The Thrill Of The Fight” Is Back
There’s good news for those of you who couldn’t stand how submissive and grovelly Team Rick was toward the Saviors in Season 7A of The Walking Dead last fall. Andrew Lincoln confirmed today those days are over and his character is finally fighting back.
“It’s probably the opposite of what you just witnessed,” Lincoln told EW. “Certainly from Rick’s point of view. You see a man in action again with some of the members of his closest family… There’s a lot more levity, if you can believe that, than you’ve ever seen before in Mr. Grimes. There’s sort of a freedom in him, a feeling that comes from losing everything, and also the thrill of the fight. It’s the thrill of the fight again. He’s back in. All I’m saying is that the band is back together.”
So which Rick does Lincoln prefer playing? Take a guess. “There are several episodes that I loved being involved in and it certainly feels very much more like a show that I knew and recognized in the back eight,” he said. “I loved the episodes that I was in.”
The Alexandrians have lost a lot of ground, though. The Saviors know exactly where they live, they outnumber them and now they own all their guns. But, then, why else do you think the show has been introducing so many other communities lately? They may stand a chance if the members of Alexandria, the Hilltop and the Kingdom all band together….
The next new episode of The Walking Dead airs February 12.
