Warzone Reveals New Map for Black Ops
According to a new social media post ahead of the big COD Next showcase, the next Call of Duty Warzone map is Area 99, not Verdansk.
Area 99, the next battle royale map, appears to arrive alongside Black Ops 6. So, you Verdansk lovers will have to wait a little longer before you dream of a grand return for the iconic map. Call of Duty Warzone needs Verdansk back. It’s not that the game is struggling without it, nor that its post-Verdansk maps are particularly bad.
Verdansk, however, is a classic and has a nostalgic appeal that very few other maps can match. While leaks suggest that it will be remade for Black Ops 6, insiders suggest the new map is not progressing as fast as expected.
Black Ops 6 Rolls Out Without Warzone Verdansk Map
It has now been confirmed that the next Warzone map will instead be Area 99. However, a new Warzone map is something to be excited about. This post from Call of Duty UK shows an industrial facility located in a dry region.
Those reports indicate that Verdansk won’t be arriving any time soon, so it appears that Urzikstan will be sticking around for a while longer. There is some speculation that Area 99 is a very small Resurgence map, as it may still reveal Verdansk in the future.
In addition, the post confirms that during Call of Duty Next, we will get a glimpse at Area 99’s gameplay and some new gameplay features from Raven Software. It will also give us a peek at Liberty Falls Zombies and more multiplayer gameplay details.
