A 64-player Pac-Man battle royale game released on Steam earlier this month has not yet reached 64 concurrent players. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle was a Google Stadia exclusive, but it effectively ended with Stadia's closure in January 2023.

On May 9, Bandai Namco released a new version of Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle to PCs and consoles, called Chomp Champs. However, SteamDB reports that the game has yet to reach 64 concurrent players.

Three weeks after its release, the most people playing the game on Steam at any given time was 52, on the day it was released. For the past two weeks, the player count has almost always been low single digits with one notable exception on May 22.

The figures don't necessarily reflect a complete disaster - since Pac-Man is traditionally viewed as a console franchise. It could be assumed that more people are playing the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

It also supports cross-play, so Steam players could theoretically find a 64-player game by joining those playing on other platforms.
